Welcome to Mariposa’s Art!

“I like Mariposa’s Art because it’s a place where I can express my feelings and also make my dreams of being an artist come alive.”         -Angelina, age 11

We’re thrilled to announce that Mariposa’s Art is featured as one of four youth-focused programs in the the 2011 Good Times Community Fund!

Mariposa’s Art programs provide after-school art and music programs where youth learn to express themselves, creatively problem-solve, make healthy choices, and positively affect their communities.

Through Mariposa’s Art, a program of the Cultural Council of Santa Cruz County, high school students become leaders, mentors and role models by co-teaching with professional artists in schools lacking funds to support the arts during the regular school day. Founded in 1998, Mariposa’s Art will serve more than 2,000 students this year .
